If you take on Microgaming, you will have to train yourself to watch for the shuffle light instead of the cards. The light is a tease, a carnival carny shouting out that the games is beatable. When the player is concentrating, counting this and hitting that, the light suddenly becomes remarkably furtive. That does seem calculated. Another Microgaming oddity is that the shuffle light comes on while cards are still on the table. In a physical games, that would mean that those cards are not in the shuffle, and therefore could not appear in the next hand. Not in this case; it's a complete shuffle with all the cards present, even if some evil twins are still on the table.

Another problem with counting online is that even when they are genuine, the games are hard to beat. Some deal only two of six decks, or two hands of single-deck. Not much of an opportunity develops that early, and when it does the player needs a huge spread. This makes the variance murderous. If the advantage player starts out on a negative fluctuation, he will have to press on for thousands of hands with the nagging doubt that the games isn't as good as presented. In addition, the spread between low and high bets has to be carefully calculated according to the given rules and penetration, which requires professional-level skill.
