John Henry vs the Steam Engine

we, myself, made decisions as to whether we would have altered the conventional basic strategy, using my own version of the system accorded an efficiency of .870 on page 59. The following table displays how much expectation per hand we and the computer gained by our strategy changes. My gain (in%) appears first, folloid by the computer's, the results for which are always at least as good as mine since it was the ultimate arbiter as to which decisions ire correct and by how much.

The Loose-Passive Style

Even with great cards, the loose-passive player does far worse than the loose aggressive player would do. Just say no. This style doesn't work.
Remember, you want to have those two ways to win going for you in poker: You want a chance to win e1'ther with your bet or with your hand. The loose-passive player doesn't get a chance to win with his bet because he just calls. He doesn't raise very often (perhaps occasionally, when he has the nuts or something very close thereto), and he puts no pressure on his opponents.
