A
player calculates his hourly rate by adding up his
total net win or loss and dividing that by his total
number of hours played.
This doesn't mean that if you get your head handed
to you five times in a row, you shouldn't suspect
that you're in over your head. If you start right
off with five big losing sessions, there's a very
good chance that you are indeed in over your head,
especially if you're new to the game and don't have
other empirical evidence to the contrary.
